I am delighted to share that I have been appointed as an Export Champion by the Department of International Trade (DIT) and Scottish Development International (SDI). A total of thirteen Scottish business figures have been selected as the first Export Champions for Scotland, expanding the Export Champions community to Scotland after running successfully in England for many years.
The Export Champion initiative stemmed from UK businesses wanting to receive more support when it comes to exporting. The DIT developed the campaign alongside SDI to select the initial Export Champions, who have all experienced success in exporting their products or services overseas.
This exciting role as one of Scotland’s inaugural Export Champions will provide more opportunities to encourage and inspire other businesses to grow through exporting, sharing my experiences of operating in foreign markets for many years. Being selected as an Export Champion will create new opportunities to help broaden the scope of Scottish exports by attending and speaking at exporting events, sharing my knowledge and experiences of entering foreign markets and supporting businesses looking to venture overseas.
